Snow tires

The snow tires in 245/45/20 are rather expensive. However, 245/50/20 are over $100 cheaper. Now, I know I would have to replace all four tires. But, would this tire be too tall? 28.7" stock and the new size would be 29.6"

It would work on a stock ride height car. It will throw the speedo off a little.

Ok, thank you so much. I looked it up and at 60mph it'll be off by 1.9mph so not too bad. Saving $100 plus per tire is well worth it.

winter is here

Looking for more snow tire advice. driving my 2014 SS. Stock rims. I'm hearing some different size options. 245/40/20, 245/45/20, and now 250/45/20. been shopping online and 9.5" max wheel width is given. I believe, and correct me if i'm wrong. stock rims on my car are 8.5, & 10.
thanks
