i envy those at sea level

i took mysstique with me on a vacation to Las Vegas. man the thin air up here where i live sucks (7000 ft) any time any one asks me how fast it is i just tell them " it ok but not what i would expect for a 426hp car" its only 3 tents faster than my old 2000 z28 when it was stock. ive been really disappointed about its lack of power sense i got it. so i decided to go to Vegas for the weekend of the 4th of july. all i can say is WOW i can punch it in first and actually break the tires loose. the altitude is about 2000 ft in Vegas i think, i cant imagine the car at sea level. ive never taken any of my cars to low altitude before so maybe id still be saying the same thing, but man i had a lot of fun in Vegas id take and off ramp just to get back on on ramp again my theory is that the high flowing heads really hurt the car at high altitude. the stock heads on this car out flow my ported heads on the beasts 383.

And Vegas with the heat the DA can approach 5000ft, we don't tend to run real fast at "the Strip", so your car would be even faster at sea level...

I'm probably one of the higher up guys... I'm "a mile high". Guess that means I can expect some decreases in performance. The upside is, everyone else is affected as well.

I myself never noticed much of a difference driving (I lived in New York, California, and North Carolina). Of course I didn't have a car like this. You can definitely tell by physically running the difference in the air. So it's plausible.

46 feet here and the difference is HUGE

Cold air also is amazing a rare event here but the other eve it was like 74 and the extra torque was huge !
When I take my cycles or Cars to Colorado the amount of drop off in power is also huge

But the views and roads are well worth it compared to the flat roads here in Southeast Texas

I am anywhere between 5 and 60 feet above sea level depending on the day of the week (or below sea level if I happen to be cruising through New Orleans).

Live at 6K here, race at 5200ft with DAs constantly in the 8500-9100ft range this time of year. It sucks!

some of the lower altitude folks just don't understand how much this affects a car, I always like to tell them, go drive up a 8000ft mountian, then floor your car and tell us how fast it is..
