Checking the LG springs now also.
I think BC Racing has the most affordable coilovers close to $1k. Still more than double the springs, but only half of $2k.

I agree with Pfadt and say...go ahead and install the since you have them. At this point they are technically used anyway so you won't get all your money back but you'll still get a majority of it if you sell them. Plus being Pfadt springs I'm sure they'll sell quickly if you price them as used.

Definately look at going with a coilover. Not only will you get a lower look but you'll bet better ride quality and better handling. With the coils set at the correct setting, they helped me to pick up .2 tenths in the 1/8th mile.

Start doing your research and getting price quotes on coils. I didn't have the budget to afford Pfadt so I went with BC Coilovers. So far they've been great for me and what I do. I spent $1k on the coils, $250 for install, and $125 for an alignment.

Here is my car with 1" Hotchkis and then the BC with about 1.5" drop. The BC rides much better than the Hotchkis did. Not that Hotchkis was horrible or anything....just that the BC is better.

only way to do it is using coilovers. I love my car lowered but want it a bit lower.
But you could fill the gap with a larger wheel

Life is good now, but that damn car was the bane of my existence. That guy screwed me and you do bad. Is the 00' SS with the 408 the replacement motor of JPR? I actually got separated from my wife during all that stuff because of the $$, stress, and aggravation. We split for 14 months. I sold the Hawk to someone in Chicago and started over. Me and my wife have been together since and it's been 6 years back. This car will not see the track or the speed shop for motor work. So far it's springs, muffler delete, rotors and pads. Maybe headers in a year if the car is trouble free. Lesson learned!! Hope all is well. I'll see you around.

Glad to hear you got it turned around, I know that was a sucky situation and I am sorry that happened...I think you got the worst of it of any of us.

The 4th gen motor is a rapid motorsports 402 LS2, with callies knife edge 4" stroker and all forged internals. Its been 6+ years now, so jettisoning JPR and his shady alliance with JD's auto repair was the best thing I did. I dont really race the car much these days, but it has hit high 10s and I have made a few adjustments/modifications since then I think would make it even faster if I went again.

See you around, if not in person on the boards

From my experience (I got coilovers), in order to get a 1 finger gap with the stock wheels, you're going to have to drop it about 1.75". In the rear it's a bit more. I had mine that way for a while but rose the rear up because I didn't want to ruin the CV boots and leak grease everywhere.
