I also highly recommend David at Parkway. I drive from Pearland just to get great service from him. Sometimes you have to drive a ways to get good service.

Just an update...
Dropped it off to David at Parkway yesterday....and within roughly 3 hours he called me back and told me it was ready. You guys were right....He got it taken care of and without any trouble. It ended up being the suspension control module....and if I'm not mistaken it somehow lost it's programming. Didn't need to get replaced....just needed to be re-programmed. Was a quick fix....but most importantly I had a good feeling about leaving my car with David. Not only because of your recommendations....but he's a very personable guy and easy to talk to. Never got the feeling he was yanking my chain like I do with a lot of other dealers. I just don't trust dealerships with my car in general...lol....But David Croft gave me an easy feeling. Much appreciated.... Thanks to everyone Dave

Had an issue with bouncy rough ride so I took it to my dealership and they said front structs are leaking and the rear shocks are locked up? Would that be a SCM failure or a failure of the shock or both?

On my 2013 ZL1, at around 52,000 miles, I noticed a large wet spot on the floor of the garage under the rear right wheel area.
The car also started riding like it had a very rigid rear suspension once in a while, but not all the time. It seems that as the mag shocks fail (leak), some people's suspension acts like there is nothing to dampen the suspension (car bounces up and down easily)_while a few peoples suspension acts like it "locks up' as mine did. I chose to have the rear struts replaced at my local Chevy dealer knowing the cost would be high but it's be done with all genuine GM parts. The bad news is, because of parts shortages due to Covid, it took 3 1/2 months to locate both rear struts. After replacing, it's like a brand new car all over again. Well worth the high cost. |

Here is one other question.
To me it seems odd both rears would be locked up solid at the same time. What are the chances that the SCM is either corrupt or has lost its programming even though the dealer is not showing any codes? Did the OP dealership pull codes that lead them to the issue of the SCM had lost its programming and could it be possible that the programming is corrupt? Thanks |

Save yourself the time, money and headache of new mag ride and go coilovers. Way better feel on the road, way cheaper, they're adjustable, and most places have them in stock right now. I have Peddars XA Extreme and they are way better than stock.
