I'm surprised that Ti is the material of choice for the plates...theres a lot better material out ther for the job. Any reason why that anyone knows or does the market just not offer them?

Titanium is pretty low on thermal conductivity compared to other metels. Girodisc shims for our car is Titanium 6AL-4V |

From running them, I can say that the SS track deflectors hang down low enough that [on the 1LE] I can see it not passing requirements from an OEM. The rotor shields, you would think would be on there, as the ZL1 has the same ones as the SS track shields. |

The downside of having the SS track ducts on all the time may be ground clearance and cooling too much on a really cold track day. I haven't ran into any ground clearance issues yet, but it's not my DD. They are very easy to change so I plan on having them on for hot track days and off for cold ones like the one I just did that was 40 degrees. Downside of the splash shields may be if you drive in the rain a lot the rotors may get too wet, but the ZL1 has the same ones and I haven't heard of any issues.

Here's a pic of the track ducts in action on a hot July day at COTA

I could see people murdering those no gators at certain tracks, they hang down a bit too low if you ask me.

ZL1 has the SS track style splash guards is what I've been told, but I would think a little bigger since the rotors are larger diameter

ZL1 and ZL1 1LE have the SS track rotor shield (pretty sure the same part).
SS 1LE has a shorter rotor shield than the SS. ZL1, ZL1 1LE and SS 1LE have the same deflectors as the SS. |
