It's a progressive spring, the rate changes with compression, so to give you a rate will depend upon the compression.

I think most here are gauging by what the mfg's all state they are 220/440 etc. just to compare. We all know they are progressive and it will vary,I cant recall what I saw as Pedders rates, on a thread here somewhere but were advertized as being close to the others

given out the info. Mute point as I have installed Hotchkis springs as the Pedders rates were unknown per anything found on the forum or google. Last edited by chuckclanton; 03-07-2014 at 05:46 PM. Reason: typo |

Pedders have always been advertised as being linear not progressive.

Last year, Pete mentioned the stock front rates were a progressive something to the order of 140lbs/ft > 150 > 160 based on spring compression. I needed a softer 2.5" coil on my XAs to pass local reconstruction permit for a stupid bounce test and OE reference to prove my case.
Most front drop springs are in the mid 200s. Rears are typically double that # or higher. 130lbs/ft sounds a little low. It's hard to find archived posts using subject since they may not appear in the advanced search. If you search by member name, you may find the Pedders spring rate post that way. XAs come with 8kg/10kg. 448/560 lbs/ft |

Above it looks like you are talkin about coil overs. The OP have parts numbers for the sport Ryder which is just the spring on the stock strut.

There was an older posting with the drop spring rates. Pretty much everyone's front drop spring rates were in the 200s. Similar to the front coilover rates of most brands. Only Pedders/BC shipped with stiffer 448lbs/ft(8kg) front coilovers. Pedders front drop springs were much softer, but firmer than the stock 150s. I looked at them back in 2009 before going with the coilover option.

Attached are all e-mails with Pedders UK. remember read bottom up as it is a continuing e-mail. Bottom line, Roger says the same, 130#. Anymore interest I gave this e-mail address. However I did respond with the concern of banging into the stops and questioning if the springs may be progressive and the 130# was the initial rate.
