Exhaust Question?

OK, so I am thinking about getting exhaust put on. I went to a speed shop and the owner pretty much said that I can get away with getting axle back. He suggested not cat back because of warranty and state inspection issues. Which I am ok with. My question is will the exaust increase performance or loose a little? The reason I ask is because with these new cars today everything is computerized and tuned to what is on there now. I had a 04 Monte SS and put exhaust on it and it seemed to loose power. I do not want that to happen to the Camaro. I have the exhaust on order and could possibly be putting it on soon. Also getting it tuned I think that would effect the warranty? Anybody with info I would like to hear it.

You aren't modifying the emissions system, so there is no issue with anything post-cat (engine has no way of metering it beyond the last o2 sensor). As for warranty, it wouldn't affect anything, other than perhaps an exhaust hanger breaking that wouldn't be covered. No biggie.

Going 2.5 or staying 2.25?

Tuning would possibly affect warranty, you can always flash it back to stock when you take it in. I think they can tell it's been reset, but I don't think they have a way of knowing what that reset was for, for all they know it could've been another dealer resetting it for service you took it in for earlier. I could very well be wrong, but that's just what I've gathered so far reading the forums.
