I have a Vararam Tune model on my SS. Saw some dyno gains from it, love the design and how it looks under the hood compared to other intakes.
IMO probably one of the best $$ can buy

Here is a lot of information and opinions from a C5 sub-forum. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=330211
There have been tons of discussions on intakes. Use the forum "search" feature to wade through them. (Personally, I have a CAI intake w/ air scoop and love it)

Our two best sellers are Cold Air Inductions and Roto-Fab. We have had great success with both systems as far as customer satisfaction. They both tend to make solid power, offer great fitment and look tuff under the hood.

I have never cared for the look of the Vararam intake systems. They just look out of place and leave a big open space where the stock intake system was. If it were me, I'd go with CAI, Roto-Fab or Airaid. Let me know if I can answer any questions.

The V6 Roto-Fab unit does really well for us, I'd highly recommend it. Plus it looks awesome once installed:

I've only tried one intake, but I love my AEM. Picked it up from a member here. Great build quality, all the brackets matched up perfectly (you have to relocate and install their washer fluid bottle). Instructions couldn't have been better, and I'm really really happy with it performance and soundwise.
I tracked a bunch of sensors using the Torque app when I had the stock intake, now I'm logging after. Intake temp, ambient temp, MAF, instant mpg...hoping to make sense of all the data and really see what sort of changes there are. I expect it would be similar to the Injen long tube, so whichever pops up at a better deal. Keep an eye on my thread if you want to see the results: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=328233

The Vararam is awesome. I'm one of the early adopters and am still thrilled with the purchase. Honestly, if I were to look at another intake it might be the Injen Long Tube or a CAI with a scoop.

I have had both the Vararam and CAI, I just answered a similar question here:
