Winter Beater...doubles as Plow Truck: see pic below. Quote:
Got the '56 from a friend's Wife. He died 12 years ago. He bought the car in 1968 at the age of 14. 2 owner car. He owned over 50 cars and I helped his widow sell them all. She was going to keep this one for his daughter and then figured it would be fitting that I should have it. I offered to pay but since she would not accept any money I made a donation to UND in his name for the value of the car and they applied it to a building wing and scholarship in his name. It is on my list of things to restore...including my '69 SS Chevelle from High School, a '69 Chevelle 300 Deluxe and need to get a '57 T-Bird E-Code Car back on the road again that my Dad gave me. |

Nice combo! It’s just the opposite for me. Store them in the summer when it’s 115. Drive them in the winter when it’s 65

Hibernation.
What tire pressures are you guys leaving in the trofeos so they don’t get flat spots/cracks/etc
My garage stays between 40-50 and I’m sure the concrete is even colder than that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If you are worried about the Concrete being colder park the tires on Plywood. This will help a little. I wouldn't be to concerned at 40-50°. |

It is that time of year again...
How many of you other Z owners have to park them for the winter?

I'm in Pittsburgh,so we get snow/salt. But there are 60 degree days that are sprinkled throughout the winter... so if the roads are clean, no salt/water... cars get to sneak out probably once a month.
The way the weather is, I'm estimating the I won't put stabilizer in the fuel till the end of the month

Normally I park mine for the frozen season, but this year I have a trackday on 8th December and then Autosport International show on January 10-13th! So it looks like #238 won't get a hibernation this year! I'll be avoiding rain/salted roads like the plague though...

Sure don't want to but im thinking mines parked until next spring. Too much on my plate the next month or so. Got it all cleaned up top to bottom, battery pulled and covered up. Later this month or next I'll warm it up and change the oil. She's sitting pretty on the quickjack setup. Going to be a long, long winter for me.

There's a workshop area on the other side with a lonely 4th gen Z that is getting some love this winter.

Joelster, I was just up there! My daughter plays volleyball for Molloy college. They played Daemen college 2 weeks ago. I am headed back up tomorrow for the playoffs. I would love to get together, but this time I am carpooling, and won't be moving around too much. p.s. Let me know if you get tired of the 3rd gen. I need one!!!
