ZL1 Fuel Pump Question

I have a 2011 SS A6 with tsp stage 3 cam, LT headers, CAI, 3200 stall and 3.91 gear. Going to install 100 to 150 shot of nitrous. Getting a ZL1 pump to up the fuel pressure, is it just plug and play or do I need other components? Or tune?

The stock SS Fuel Pump Control Module is programmed to let fuel pressure fall off as the rpms rise. Here's a pic. Second pic is the ZL1 fuel pump control module tune. It keeps pressure the same at all times.

So, while a ZL1 pump can flow more, you should either modify your stock SS FPCM (using HPTuners, like I did) or buy an already modified FPCM from a vendor who sells them and then get a tune.

As mentioned, you'll want to edit the FPCM to get more out of it. The other option is to just buy a ZL1 FPCM, but it is a lot cheaper to just edit the module.

You’re going to need a tune. I also got zl1 injectors, and an ADM FPCM along with the fuel pump when I had my flex fuel sensor installed.

My car is tuned with HPTuners. So your saying my tuner can tune the stock FPCM to work with ZL1 pump or do you have to physical modify the stock FPCM?

Tuner to edit the stock FPCM, will give you up to 58psi right now at WOT. Then if you feel you still need more flow, get a ZL1 pump.

Thats exactly right, just tune it. No physical mod necessary. With HPTuners you can now modify the tune in your stock SS fpcm to do exactly what the ZL1 fpcm does. Since they are seperate devices, The cost for licensing the tune file for the fpcm is 1 HPtuner credit, $50.

Thats my current setup now, with DW90# injectors and a bap. But the DSX Aux pump should be here anyday, then I’m going e85.
