I really think PQ could have a camaro reality show at this rate of popularity.....any executive producers on this thread? There are worse reality shows airing than this right now!

I drove home from the tire shop and all seems to be normal. The wheels were still intact with all the original components so I'm not sure what they could have done.

The TPMS sensors were taken off and put back on so obviously something was done but they could have been taken off at the paint shop fixing the spot on the register. (We know this because they were put back on wrong. Wouldn't hold air.) 3 of them were just fine. One was in the shops opinion 'Questionable' but doable.

So Nick, you guys take a hammer to it and beat it back in or what?

The shaking was gone. Definately has the road ride of a thinwall tire, but the annoying drone of hard mechanical vibration is gone. I can accelerate hard now without feeling like the car is gonna come apart.

But now I just wanna know what it was.

There were NO retainer washers on the car. NONE. Unless Big Ten Tires took them off when they swapped them out before I shipped them back, they never were. Maybe that is a possibility but kinda slim. Who knows?

Anywho, I will be able to drive it much more tomorrow to get a better feel. If it stays like this, I'm happy. If there still is a vibration, it wasn't noticeable on the road home. So, good to go, so far.

Good update Randy. Bet it was that bent wheel that caused the vibe.

But how would they fix it without changing any parts?

Still a very small subtle vibration, but could just be what 22 inch wheels feel like. (I never really got to feel what 22s feel like with the vibration before) Nowhere NEAR what it was, and only when I accelerate. Certainly acceptable. This time it changes with the road, so I'm sure that's what it is.

They sure are purdy.

I may have to buy me a spare. Front left. The front left just makes me nervous. It's in my head now I guess. I just didn't like the way the manager and tech looked at each other when they spun it. But he said it could be just fine.

But all in all, I'm good.

Not sure I'll supercharge my car with these. Maybe over time I'll grow comfortable with them. But for now I'll plan on more wheels after I get my blower.

They look great. Had you to do it all over again, would get the 22's?

Is it the particular Savani wheels that have you concerned about adding the supercharger or 22's in general? This is why I choose not to do 22's as I will add a supercharger eventually and I was worried those larger wheels are going to affect the performance of the car once it is S/C'ed.

I do want my car to look as good as possible but more importantly I want it to perform and ride as good as possible and I just didn't think that was possible with 22's.

And you must have nice pockets my friend to be able to go from wheel to wheel like that...good for you!

Guys,

If your car is street driven and rarely expect to take it to a track, then the 22's will make little difference in performance. I have to be willing to really beat on the car and push it before you will ever notice that 22's have an impact.

So, what I'm saying is, if you are a "my car has to look good" kinda guy then get the 22's and add what ever performance mods you want...

If you are a "my car needs to perform" kinda guy then 20's is the way to go as they will give you a good performance and looks. IMO 20's are the best compromise but you will only see the difference between 20's and 22's on the track under extreme driving conditions.

FWIW.

Glad to hear things are looking up Randy.

I'm also curious to hear what was fixed on your wheels.
