Hey its real easy sand/cut smooth the back side of the flags off, fill will jb weld, stick with 3M tape, no holes no corrosion!

if you drill drfinitely paint the raw edge good so it wont rust

I was in the same boat. I found that bowtie on here and thought "Cool, I want one." Then I found out I had to drill holes in the decklid. The bowtie's off the list now.

If you do it, make sure you prime and paint the metal after you drill the hole. If you can, make sure that the inner cavity is primed from the factory. If memory serves, the primer/ecoat is done in a dip tank so it should be but it can get missed if there is an air bubble trapped when the car is dipped. If it doesn't have primer, I suggest you add some. Seal around the hole with liquid sealer or find a rubber grommet that will work (seal the rubber grommet to the wires after you pull them through). I would also use a good liquid adhesive/sealer around the outside edge of the bowtie. This will give you 2 layers of protection from water and road salt. Good luck!
