Oil Drain Valve
Just in case anyone is a DIYer like me and changes their own oil, I have looked into a product that has been around for a while that makes changing your oil a lot easier. Not promoting the product or anything I dont get any commision just thought I could help out some fellow Camaro owners.

When you look this up on the manufacturer's site, it recommended an extension piece because our oil pans "may" have a recessed plug location. From looking at my pan, it doesn't look that way. Did you find that you needed that extention?

Yes, you need the extension for the V8's. Otherwise the Fumoto release valve will hit the oil pan. Leaned from experience.
Found this website that sorts out the parts for you: http://www.qwikvalve.com/search.php?mode=search&page=1 There's even a new integrated valve extension with short nipple available now (F107SW). I'd get that one since the nipple is still long enough to attach a hose. Last edited by edgehead2000; 06-30-2013 at 06:18 PM. |

Have one on my SS....love it....mine has the optional plastic hose adapter so I just connect the hose on one end...put the other end in my drain pan...crack the valve and wait for all the oil to drain.
Absolutely zero mess. I have one on my daily driver as well. Best invention ever. I did buy the lock ring just to be safe and make sure the valve cannot open accidentally. |

I opted not to get one after asking same question a few weeks ago. I need it to drain fast as I'm in an apt complex.
