315's in the rear?

Anyone put 315's or bigger on there ZL1? I'm looking at the NITTO NT555 G2, heard a lot of great things about these tires from friends. I want to get at least 315's or higher if possible.

They say summer ultra high perf tires. If that is like the GY's and they do not recommend driving with these on under 40 degress I would rather have the michelin ss tires so you could drive year round.

Read the MANY threads on 315's on the rear and 295 on the front to see that 95% of people have no problems at all (including me) especially with the MPSS's, while a few have reported some rubbing, all with cars at stock suspension height.

I was thinking about this set up but I just installed 1" lowering springs so I'm not sure about the clearance?

Just put MPSS on mine. Stock ride height. 315 in the rear. If I go over a big bump too fast there is a slight 1/2 second rub noise. Not enough to concern me. I had 315 rear NITTO's on my 2012 SS never rubbed.

The 315 fit fine. However, a couple of passengers in the rear and a bump it will scrub but won't damage the tire

If never going to track those are very good tires for the zl1 I've been told. Better wet handling. Apparently softer sidewall than the goodyears though. I almost bought them but couldn't find the 295s for the front.

I am waiting to see what the goodyear g3 are like on new zl1s. Hoping they are better, don't like the stock goodyears but stuck with them since I track the car from time to time.

I run Nitto Motivo 315's in the rear, and at the track I run M&H 325 18's out back (Stock 285's up front)

Anyone have a pic of the rear with the wider tires on...Do they show past the fender???I just like the look of the wider tire, not concerned with racing performance...I like the pattern of the Nitto...

I think they would rub on the inside plastic liner. I don't know that at all, just think so. I had 315/40/18 Nitto 05R and they just touched the plastic liner on one side enough to leave a scuff mark but thats all. Spec from Nitto says section width 12.6 and spec from Michelin says section width 13 so if the Michelins are a little bit more maybe they would rub. Obviously the wheel could change things. I don't have stock wheels.
