Thumbs up Technostalgia Tail lights update......

Received my replacement light this past Monday and installed it yesterday. Works like a champ! Thanks to Todd for getting me a replacement out asap. I sent the old one back in the same packaging pre-paid. Will keep you guys updated on these as time goes on.

Glad to see someone got a replacement, RD. There's a long line of us who have not had that kind of experience. And we're still waiting. Sigh.

Damn dude, I'm sorry for the rest of you guys that are having issues. I guess in my case it was because it was such a short time period after installing them that mine died. I really like that older style with twice as many afterburner LED's.

I hear of too many issues and that's why I haven't got these. They look amazing, but seems like fail rate is too high. Maybe it's because that's what we mainly see posted.

My problem has nothing to do with leaking or condensation. I have crazy flicker and battery drain. Maybe we should just start a shorthand method when referring to our problem. Mine would be LOFBD. Left outer flicker with battery drain. Others could just say "condensation", "fog", "resistor", "connector", "LED", etc.

It's a shame. I had so many traffic light moments from people complimenting those lights when they worked. Now they tell me I have a bulb out. From another thread, I think this says it all:

I appreciate you sharing just so those of us who were seriously considering this mod can avoid the frustrations you're experiencing.

I had a resistor failure. Well, not the resistor itself. I spliced in a new set of resistors into the existing resistor harness that comes out the back of the lamp housings, and the same resistor for the same bulb would stay cold and never work. I ended up bypassing the tail lamp by tapping into the stock tail lamp wiring harness and added my load resistors in parallel with the Technostalgia lamp, and it's working for now. No idea what happened internally in the lamp itself, don't care to open it and potentially create new issues.

I've had mine for two years now and the only issue I have is every now and then the right outboard light doesn't play nice with the others, it will not flash or it will flicker by itself then start working again right away. I haven't heard anyone else with a similar concern so I'll worry about it again next season if it continues.

I got them...them are like evil twins...some times they work perfect...some times they act like manure for days without no apparent reason. Overall, I wouldnt swap them. So far 2 years plus with them.

I'm going to jump on this thread with an offer. I bought mine in April 2011. Just had the right outer go out. I did have the battery drain issue all along. After a long list of no call backs to Techno, I don't want to deal with them. I love these lights and would have been willing to pay them to fix it. I replaced mine with just some LEDs. So I have the lights pulled out (not the brain or wiring at this time). If someone wants to purchase these for a much discounted price or sell theirs for a much discounted price, all 3 of the other lights work great.
