Z28 Splitter, Rockers, Wheel Flares, Grille on 1LE

So I've been collecting parts for awhile and I'm finally ready to start with some cosmetic upgrades. I'm always looking for advice from the been there done that club so I don't reinvent the wheel and can avoid common mistakes.

I love the looks and the performance benefit from the functional Z28 aero kit. I have my car clearly badged as a 1LE in 3 places including a reference on my custom license plate. I'm not trying to fake a Z28 but I do want the killer more aggressive look for my 1LE.

I currently have Z28 front splitter, rockers, wheel flares, front grille with flow tie with custom 1LE badge on the factory landing pad where the Z28 one usually is, and an actual Z28 front bumper. The only part I don't have right now is the rear diffuser due to the extremely high cost. I know it won't match perfectly with the flares but am hoping it won't look too bad in the meantime.

Can anyone tell me if the front splitter can be attached to the front bumper and then installed as a unit or does the bumper have to be on the car first and then attached?

Anyone with experience please chime in and share any tips or tricks for installing this stuff. I've read many threads here but there may be some things not covered in detail I'd love to see here.

Here's a couple of teaser pics of the modifications to the front grille

There's a very in-depth instructional on grill removal / replacement on Youtube...

It's not that bad of a process really. I just put the same grille on my 1LE that you have here as well (sans Flowtie):

I guess my only real advice is that you have to apply some good pressure to get the old one out, those clips are more resilient than you'd think

The rest of the aero bits I can't comment on, sorry!.. though I'm going to assume that the Z28 splitter goes on after the bumper is on the car, as there are some fairly hefty brackets that are used to help support it.

This is still a work in progress but here are some pics with the front bumper, grille, splitter, and rocker panels installed. It was late and I had to work the next morning so I have some fine tuning to get the lines to match up like I want before I attempt to install the flares. I'm very pleased with the way it is looking so far. This car is turning heads and getting compliments everywhere I go now and isn't even finished

I just did the Z28 front areo, I got all my parts from Maureen at Rodgers Chevrolet. She was a great help making sure I had all the parts and delivery was fast.

It does not just bolt right up. You have to drill some holes in the bumber for the c-clip nuts. The brackets do just bolt up though. It was fairly easy, just time consuming test fitting and double checking measurements of the holes before drilling.
