Just out of curiosity. You guys that have had stuff painted. Did the dealer paint it or a 3rd party? Does GM provide 'instructions' on how to spray Synergy or other tint coat colors?

Other 3rd parties , dealers cost to much for labor. I also got some paint mixed atogether Car Quest and did some of my own painting, pretty good match. Trial and error. Lol

Nice. I've always wanted to spray things myself but don't really know enough about flash times and what gun to use and nozzles and all that. I'm having some stuff painted next month at the dealership. I'm just bringing them parts and they are spraying. I'll post pics up when I get them back. I'm curious as to how well they can match it. For a dealership it better be spot on! :-)

I had a 3rd party paint some stuff for me and couldn't get a spot on match. He said it was due to try to match plastic and metal parts. I really think it comes down to the primer color, at least that is what someone told me after I had mine done. He said to get it right he used a white base when he was painting SGM.

That's interesting. I didn't think the primer color would matter because they have to spray the silver base before the green. Usually it's at least 2 coats of silver first.

Like I said, this came from someone who's work I have not seen. I just remember him saying the trick to matching was in the primer. Maybe he meant the base IDK.

I agree with this. When I did mine I used a light gray primer and it tuned out prety good.

I bought a painted locking defender fuel door from RP I and the green is a lot darker than the OEM paint on the car. I think they just pained a black fuel door with out any primer.

Finally just got done ordering my new lights for the car.

Diode Dynamics set up for the engine bay,
6# strips of RGB SMD 5050
2#strips for the grill
controller

Underbody from LEDGlow
went with solid Green for this.

I'll take the six LEDGlow strips from the engine bay and move them to the interior.

Then move the scanner bar to the trunk

Still have 2 strobe lights to figure out what to do with.
should light up like a xmas tree when I'm done....

Finally found a green & black Air filter cover wrap. This will fit the CAI Ind. Filters, a little pricey had to custom order to get it with out a makers logo on it. Should look sharp with the new lights in the intake...

Here's a video of the Green LED Glow under body kit I got today . I hooked this up inside and played with it all day , It's really bright and looks cool as hell . Can't wait to get it on the car . The tubes are a little bigger than I thought . But I will figure it out one way or another .

Another thing I have been going crazy looking for is a Air Filter wrap in green . Finally found one . Here's what it looks like . But I had to custom order it because I didn't want the makers Logo on it . I will silk screen a Bio Hazard Symbol on it and Have lights in the CAI intake box . Should look pretty cool .
