photoshop has pretty well become a verb, There's a bunch of different programs people use. i use adobe Photoshop, gotta pay for that one. then there's 'Paint Shop Pro', still gotta pay, but a lot cheaper.

'Paint.net' is free, as is 'GIMP'.
