2010 Camaro goes 202.8 mph at Texas Mile!!! - a new record !!
BREAKING NEWS:
Goliad, TX The 2010 Camaro of MTI Racing just went 202.8 mph at the Texas Mile, with a full interior, licensed and registered street Camaro. Pics will be posted as soon as they are sent from Texas. -Stephen MTI Racing, reporting remotely from Atlanta ------------------------------------------------------ NEW OFFICIAL UPDATE: The Camaro went even faster the next day! 205.7mph on Saturday. The impressive part is that the Camaro is: a) An aerodynamic brick b) Weighs almost 2 tons We are extremely excited with the results, and had a great time at the Texas Mile. We are also happy about helping 3 of our customers surpass their 200mph goals in their street Corvettes. Going fast in our shop car is not good enough. Helping others go fast is our ultimate goal. The MTI Racing 2010 Camaro is a full interior, licensed and insured street car. It is the same car we drove 2700 miles on the Hot Rod Power Tour, and used as the NARRA Pace Car at Road Atlanta. It is running a 6.2L LS3 engine with an MTI Racing design dual 61mm rear-mount turbochargers feeding a Magnuson TVS2300 supercharger, a 100 shot of Nitrous, exhaling through American Racing Headers and making around 1,000 horsepower. To slow the car down after a 200mph run we have the 6 piston Brembo upgraded braking system on the car. Aside from the custom made 4-pt cage, the car contains many of the bolt-on items available on the MTI Racing website. Here are some pics... Here's Louis setting up the belt harness, and some small details. The starting line has many different types of cars/bikes. Here's Reese checking over the vitals of our "Twin-Charged" Camaro before the run. (there's a laptop on the passenger side) One small burnout to heat tires before the 200mph blast. And here's a video of the first 200+mph pass. Last edited by MTI Racing; 03-31-2011 at 10:28 AM. |
