INside of Front Facia picture?
Wanted to see the inside, I am jsut dying to find out if I can make the mail slot useful for something.
Used search but get all kinds of external pics. Thanks! |

It will be hard. Right behind the faux mail slot is the hood latch mechanism.

yeah I been playing around with Google skecth up and had an idea in my minds eye that would split around that.

Mail slot upgrade to make it functional would be near inpossible with the hood latch right there.
I did get behind the upper grill though and where the intake (stock one) meets it's actually an open air system there...small tube in the front right beside the "SS" to direct air in, then another open tube to direct the air to the filter. By open I mean it's not a sealed, continuous pipe running air from the front of the car to the filter. I'd think you'd have a better shot at making inlets (pipes) in the grill area and directing it to the filter area than making the mail slot functional...IMO. |

There is another alternative that you may or may not want to consider is removing the latch mechanism and using hood pins in it`s place.

Thanks, hadn't thought of that, jsut playing around right now, wanted to see the actual mail slot cleance, looks like the mounting lip might obstruct it some, and not sure if that plastic black piece is molded in.

Check out post #10 & #15 which show the engine compartment, it might give you a little better idea of what you have to work with.
