A week with MRT 2.0

It has exceeded my expectations in every way. Cold starts are outstanding. It really sounds good when I start it up in the parking garage after work. Then, when the idle drops there’s just a low rumble, a little louder than stock. But definitely different. No one would mistake it for the factory mufflers. Thursday, I got the oil changed at the dealer and it sounded nice when they were moving it around the service area. (The service manager didn’t bat an eye at my Barton shifter and MRT exhaust. He liked them and asked if I was going to put an intake on it) At idle it’s pretty quiet in the cabin, just a low, pulsating tone if you listen for it. Underway, it has a deep, rich, powerful sound when I go through the gears and it’s not loud unless you get on it. When you do, it’ll make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. It just sounds great. And loud. I get to work in downtown Cleveland pretty early and short blasts of WOT sound great bouncing off the buildings. Drone has never bothered me, but that’s a subjective thing. I’d want a performance car to sound the part, inside and out. (my commute is 37 miles one way so I’m subjected to it more than most) I would say the MRT doesn’t drone unless I’m going up a grade, in too high of gear, and the engine is laboring a bit. But that’s my fault, not the design of the exhaust. On the freeway at 60-70 it has a pleasant tone in the cabin. You can listen to the radio and talk and it doesn’t intrude at all. My wife, the proud owner of a Genesis Coupe 3.8 likes it too. I’ve heard that some exhausts can make cars “date proof” Not this one. Thanks again to KMPrenger for creating the sticky with all of the exhaust clips and to rtcat600man (his was the car that made me buy the MRT) and scrmng for their clips. FYI- the sound clips, even with ear buds, don’t come close to how the MRT 2.0 sounds in real life. Get a set of 2.0’s if you can. You won’t be disappointed.

Good review OP. It only gets better too as you put more KM's/Miles on it.

Along with sounding great, I've seen a 2 mpg increase as well. A nice bonus.

Had my MRT 2.0's installed this morning. I absolutely love the sound, quiet idle, near drone-free while cruising, and boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomy under acceleration without being obnoxious.

so, got to add my 2 cents. everything the OP states is true. it's been a week with mine installed, and I love the sound. the "burble" sound as you just cruise along is enough to tell you this isn't the stock exhaust. get on the pedal, and it roars. cold starts in the parking garage at work or at home are great, and when it idles down, you get that same low rumble.

no, it will never sound like a V8, but it's a great sound for the 6.

I've had mine for a couple of months now. Went to Atlanta Motor Speedway tonight for the Show N Shine. We also got 2 parade laps! I kinda passed a few cars...shhhh....I think it was supposed to be a no-no! Anyway, they stop all the cars on the track in large groups at differend spots. Then everyone gets out of their cars and walks around, etc. I had 3 or 4 teenage guys with Mustangs coming to check out my car. They said it sounded really good on the track! I was one proud owner! Thanks MRT....the guys were a little surprised when I told them what MRT meant
