We sometimes drive back to back to play, but never door to door; how does the track allow it?
 I presume it happens during an HPDE?

The track days are put on by a race team that allows others to use the track to cover rental costs. It's mainly open lapping and most everyone knows each other and their capabilities very well. It's not exactly allowed we just get out there and sometimes it takes a few laps to pass.
