Whats best for winter tires?

Living in Connecticut and just bought my Camaro. Haven't had any snow yet but I'm told that my Camaro is desperately going to need snow tires to handle it. I've also been told that I only need to purchase two for the back. Is just two going to be all right? Been looking for the pirelli scorpions but every place around here only seems to have the blizzacks. Would those do just as well?

I have Blizzaks on my WRX and it's a tank. It's AWD, but with the stock summers it's terrible, so they do make a huge difference.

Did you buy from a shop or online?

Do you like to have your steering tires to have grip? I know I do. Winter tires on all four corners or park it until spring.

Yeah I knew that was ridiculous. Just saw some people on this site saying just the back two was okay. Just hopeful thinking cause these 20 inch tires are pricey. My last car was more than half the price

You could always go with Toyo Observe G3-ice 255/45/20 all four! I am running the same here in Ottawa, Canada. They are not pricey at all

Find the Scorpions, they are great but not cheap. Don't you have Town Fair? They should source from another store or warehouse.

I'm on my 4th winter with 19" blizzaks on a 4 corners. Car has been solid thru the winters. Got wheels and tires thru my dealer.

There are other options. I run the nitto nt90w and they have done great for me. I ran the pirellis my first winter and hated them. Others love them. What ever you get, get all 4. Tire rack is a good resource outside of the nittos. I run factory oem sizing.

Do all 4 or don't bother. Not only do your front wheels handle the steering, but they also do the majority of the stopping. Both of those are (usually) more important, safety-wise, than acceleration.

This will be my 2nd winter on a set of Blizzak's. Great tires that have gotten me out of several situations.
