1le shocks on 2010 ss?
Will they work? Both front and rear on a 2010 ss. I have 1 inch lowering Springs I'll be putting on in the spring and figured if it's all apart..... Why not. I hear mention of different rear mounts? But anything else? Or will they just not work since the 2010 is fe3?

The 1LE rear shocks have a different mount and the are suppose to be a lot better than the SS shocks they are a single stage vs the SS are multi stage or vice versa. They are stiffer than than the SS so it might be a harsher ride along with lowering springs. Justice Pete can outfit your 1LE struts and shocks with Z/28 springs that also lower your ride.
Rear mounts are about 80 bucks each I'm going to start scouring all the GM website to find the best price on a set of mounts myself... My understanding is you won't be sorry you installed them!!! |

I already have the springs. I'm just trying to figure it what else is needed or if it's even possible to just slap some 1le shocks on the car with new Springs. And I can handle the ride. If I wanted it to ride like a Cadillac, I would have gotten, well, a Cadillac. So day for instance I have my Springs and the 1le shocks. What else is needed to install these on a 2010 ss?

The 1LE damper package is an excellent upgrade. You need the front struts, rear damper and rear upper mounts; that is it. Please feel free to call, email or PM us anytime with questions.

How bad are the roads in your area of NJ? I would have already made this upgrade with my Hotchkis lowering springs if I wasn't so concerned about the suspension slamming on uneven/patched roads. Right now with the lowering springs (and 77k on the original shocks) it is pretty firm. Do you track your car? Jordan, What is the benefit in going with the 1LE dampers on a road car? Sean

What is different as far as the upper rear mount for the 1LE?

I have the 1le shocks on my 2010 and I don't recall using anything else to install them

But isn't the bushing part of the shock not the mount???

No its in the shock mount.
They're not needed to use or install the 1LE shocks, there's very little difference between the 2. |

While you are at it, update the rear lower control arms and sway bar. $0.02
