Yet it's (the g35) times, ya know that stuff done on the street, isn't any different then the Camaro's. Paper is one thing, strip is the real deal. Those times are measured, by a mag that leans towards imports to boot, in the real world. Sorry if it butt hurts you to read the g35 won't walk on the Camaro, but it won't.

C/D TEST RESULTS: 2010 Camaro v6 6M
Zero to 60 mph: 5.9 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 14.5 sec @ 99 mph
So, according to the same source, the Camaro is a hair quicker in the 1/4, while 0-60 are the same. So the g35 just flat out wins how? It's a driver's race between these two, plain and simple. Other cars might whoop the Camaro, hell, even the newer versions of the g35 might, but the 06 version? Nope.

Thank you guys for all your responses. You've now given me the courage to go out and whoop the living hell out of that G35! I will do you all proud

Haha, my butt doesn't hurt because a family sedan is faster then your sports car, but thats fine. You can keep running with your magazine, but I'm gonna stick to facts. The g35 has a better weight to power ratio, and will slowly but surely out run the camaro. Now if you can tell me that the camaro is lighter/the same weight AND has more hp/tq, then by all means, I'll refute my statement. But until then, understand that this car is faster then the v6 camaro, no matter how marginal it may be.

If you're not comfortable then don't race. And if you decide to race don't do it on the street. It's innocent souding stories like this that end up on the 11 o'clock News.

I'd wager that the camaro may yet be the faster car depending on differences in gearing, traction, etc.

.... something like tighter gearing could make the difference..... I mean hell what if the driver of the camaro was 50lbs lighter, and the guy in the g35 has a big stereo?

Also, the G35 being an auto could play a factor. We are talking a very small difference here, it's a drivers race.

All of what you said was true, but the statement i responded to was the cars, not the drivers. The 2 cars have similar gearing, hence why magazine times are so close, with the edge going to the g35 because of its better power to weight ratio. Without any aftermarket parts or anything like that, the g35 is faster. Now, with what you said in the real world, there is a possibility that it could be a drivers race.

NO it IS a Drivers Race Period. You live on planet Earth, when all of the mags are posting times for cars that are within .1 of each other either way through the quarter with identical 0-60 times, When the power to weight ratio is THAT close, (As in, I better not eat a big mac before I race), and you start having to refer to gearing and traction as the decider of winning and losing....

THAT'S A DRIVERS RACE

Ok

G35 = 3650lbs / 298HP = 12.24lbs per HP
Camaro = 3750lbs / 306HP = 12.33lbs per HP

It was a G37 not a G35 I forgot about that difference and also I wasn't really pushing it, I was just toying with him. I'm not going to go all out on the highway while in traffic.

How many more times, CAR for CAR the g35 is faster, you just proved it with the numbers. God damn simmer down. I just said in my last post with the drivers it is. Don't get upset about a family sedan being as fast as a sports car, they didn't do it just to piss you off

LOL! You just don't get it. I'll stop by saying, From the factory, you could probably get a V6 Camaro that will beat a G35 stock for stock everytime if you could test them in such a way to elimate the driver and drive them with exact robots. What I proved is that the difference in Power to weight is so small that the deciding factor will be something else like gearing or traction.

Wait what? "Don't get upset about a family sedan being as fast as a sports car"....

lol that is all

Well G37 is a little different, 330HP would certainly make it quicker. It's still an excuse to go to the track, The race is going to be his to lose however not yours to win. Still wouldn't be more than a Car length roughly in a perfect test.
