Don’t know if the convertible is different, but on my coupe I was able to stuff the cord under the headliner trim next to the top edge of the windshield, and then pop off the A-pillar trim to run down to the side of the dash

That’s the header panel on a Convertible. You have to peel the cloth top back to be able to take the header panel off to stuff wires behind it. Be careful as the header panel is know to break easily when the screws are overnightened in the busses.

Krolis, I ran my cord the same as you desire and added an aux plug to the fuse box in the area of the steering wheel, tucked all under the dash so it can not be seen. There are 2 screws under the sun visor. When you pull the visor down you will see small plastic squares. They pop out by using a small screw driver and prying from the right side. Take the screws out then carefully pop the header cover off on that side. Then you pop off the A pillar cover and the rest is easy.

Thank you
Didn't even think to look under the visor.

But exactly how do you get the a-pillar trim off? Where do you pull? What holds it on? Mine is nice and tight now, so I really don't want to break it.

All I did was gently pry the top-most part away from the body and the upper clip will pop free, then do the same with the next clip. It will come out from behind the weather striping.

Thanks for the info. What kind of clip is it? Is it the ribbed plastic one that gets ruined if you ever remove it? Or is it actually meant to be removed and replaced?

They are those metal blade type that I guess you can say are meant to be removed and replaced. I removed it at least twice as I upgraded my dash cam.

Good information in this thread as I just got a dash cam to install. Does anyone have the rear camera also and if so how and where did you install that. Mine is a 2012 vert.

I attached mine just above the license plate, ran the wire behind the plate. There are holes behind it that lead to the underside of the car. I then ran the cable along side the wires next to the frame of the ca. Once I got to the front of the door I ran it through where the wires for the power windows go through (black grommet) Then up inside the "A" pillar and across the head liner to the camera.

Sorry, I'm bringing this back to life...

I finally got around to taking off the A pillar trim. Even though I was very gentle, the trim piece itself and one of the blue clips broke. Anyone know where to get those blue clips?

Also, a little block of gray foam (like a spacer) fell out. Does anyone know where that's supposed to go?
