This is the Associated Press version. There's also the USA Today version. The Kansas City Star also reported on this announcement.

If they give A "FULL REFUND", than why do you have to be current on your payments?? WHat about your deposit?

Wow, it's like renting a car for two months for free!
I wonder if you can return the car just for spite? (Seinfeld reference) Seriously, there will be all kinds of complications with this. Car is already titled to customer. Who gets the car back (dealer or manufacturer)? Who takes the hit on depreciation (dealer or manufacturer)? Commissions charged back to salespeople and managers? WOW!

Sounds to me like you would be a lot better off just selling it on ebay and then you could earn the markup that the dealer would try to get out of somebody else after you returned your car.

So let me get this right. I buy a new car for $30,000 and I can return it to the dealer and get $30,000 back. How on earth could I sell it for more on e-bay as a used car with 4.000 miles on it?
And I'm still looking for the fine print? |
