Truly ignorant question, but I'm old

Getting a 2011 RS/2SS in about 3 weeks. Is there a way to play my iPhone 4 IPOD thru the Camaro sound systems?

If you got the 2SS, then I believe it should work through your USB port in the Center console. You just need to get the correct cables.

My IPOD works fine it... But I have an older model Iphone that registers as not compatable. You might go to your dealer plug one into his.

Try a search of http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=29. But yes, it works fine. You want to make sure you connect the GMusicConnect bluetooth to play music and connect the General Motors Bluetooth for the phone. Or you can use the USB to connect the cable to the dock port. I use Bluetooth because I hate the iPod interface on the stereo.

Yep. And as pointed out, there are three ways to do it. With the 2SS, you will have your choice between aux in, USB, and bluetooth.

iPhone4 software (even on the 3GS model) is incompatible with the bluetooth. You will have to plug into the USB port until a software update fixes it.

To answer your original question, your iPhone4 will work just fine through the USB port as an iPod.

The "correct" cord is the standard USB cord you use to connect your iPhone to a computer. Nothing special.

Aux in works gr8 with my iPod. If your iPhone has a typical 3.5MM headphone jack, then it should work fine via Aux in.

That's odd. It works great with my Droid.

My iPhone 4 works via Bluetooth for listening to the iPod or streaming music from the internet. Never had a problem since release day (for the iPhone 4).

works fine with my iphone 3g so I think you should be fine.

however, sometimes it says "Data could not be supported"... just take the cord out of the iphone and plug it back in and works again.

also, sometimes when I go to playlists it gives me names of songs instead of playlists just press back on the car controls and click playlist again and it should read perfectly.

so there are some imperfections yes, but it's not that bad

true but I've compared how the usb plug sounds vs the auxiliary and using the usb makes a HUGE difference to sound quality.

Since the OP will get a usb port in his car, I suggest the OP use that
