MT ET Street Rs or Hoosier QTP

I'm having trouble with Mickey Thompson getting some tires that aren't out of round lately. So I'm now looking at the Hoosier for a 17" drag pack 305/45/17. My car makes 800whp and is all street driven basically.

1. Which tire will be better for a manual on the street?
2. Can the Hoosier be mounted without the white lettering?

Lets hear pros/cons of each

Thanks in advance.

Website says Hoosier radials are not intended for highway use but can be mounted with or without the lettering showing. I guess I'm confused by your question since I don't see a Hoosier tire intended for street use. As for MT's, I bought a set 18" drag radials and it took a huge amount of weight to balance the tire on the wheel. I complained to the tire shop and their explanation was that after a few passes I was going to change the balance of the wheel anyway with the rubber being removed. I junked the tires after a few months of being dissatisfied and switched to a Nitto. So yes, in my 45 years of buying tires the MT's that I purchased were the most out of round tire I have ever seen. They can't all be that bad or they would be out of business. Good luck with your set up.

I think I am going back to M&H. The mickeys need like 9 ozs of weight. Beads did not work. 325/50R15. Can't use stick ons.

Yes, one of the M/T tire manufacturing plants caught fire. So some tires are on backorder. I ran both the M/T and M & H. My first set of M&H,I had to put alot of weight on it,but it drove OK. Then ran the M/T S/S and then the ET Street R. No issues with the M/T. Because the ET Street R are on back order, a customer recently offered me a crazy $$$ for mine,so I sold them. I ordered a set of M&H. The reason that I want to run the M&H is because the size.
M&H = 325/45/17
M/T = 305/45/17
The 325 are taller.
But when I go to 15", I'll probably go with M/T ET Street R or the Pro.
Just by 2 cents.... Carry on.

Thanks for the info. I'll wait but may need to switch to M&H.

I've noticed the same with various things over the last year.
