Might Have Found a Used 2010...
Okay guys & gals, as you know I've been looking for an SS1. Well my buddy that works at GMC dealership sends me some pics of a super-sweet SS2 they just got in today.
Two crappy quality pics via phone. But from what I can tell...black with dark grey leather, SS2, automatic, sunroof and I think (but not 100% sure) it has the RS package. 12k miles. The *asking* price is $32k-ish. Doing some quick web searches, seems to be in-line (maybe a $1k or so low) with asking prices of other local dealers for used 2010's. Hard to get true apples-apples comparison, but with some quick math in head I think they are spot on. To build the same car (assuming it has the RS package) is $38.4k in a 2011 model. I'm pretty sure I can get a steal on this since he's an employee and tight with management. Seems like all indicators to pull the trigger. Of course I have to go look & drive. But you know what I mean. One question lingers....is there any defects, issues, upgrades, etc between the 2010 and 2011 models??? Any idea what a reasonable price would be for a USED one like this?

2010 does not have the HUD option
at 12k miles, I would check the rear tires.... probably need replacing (unless the dealer did that already) I'd tell them to make it a GM certified used vehicle (would make them do a mandatory 119 (iirc) point inspection, and replace everything in that sinepction), and offer then 30-31k.

I dunno, $32k w/12k miles sounds a little high. I've seen brand new left over 2010 2SS/RS Camaros selling for that much. It also depends where you live, I am refering to ads in California. 2011 have that HUD and not much else different from what I have heard.

Okay, I got the pics from my Suckberry over to my computer. Blown up I think the interior is the 2-tone, but price-wise it's the same.
Thanks for the good info. That would suck not having HUD, but then again, if I went 2011 SS1 I wouldn't have that either. Any other differences??? I am in Tulsa, OK. Haven't checked for 2010 left overs but that is a good idea. Obviously 2010 with 0 miles for the same money is a better deal. Of course, if $32k is their ASKING price I suspect my buddy can help get it for close to their cost (car + cleanup). Also good point about being certified. My buddy is a service CSR and I know several of the guys turning the wrenches as well. I'm pretty sure we could get that handled fairly easily. Plus if it needs a few items later when out of warranty, it makes for cheap repairs.

Woah...had to share this...
I started looking online for leftover 2010 inventory. This popped up. http://www.jimgloverchevy.com/vehicl...FT1EW2A9188444 Check out the REDUCED price of $64,887!!!! I had to call and ask about it. Apparently it's got tons of mods done to it and pushing nearly 600hp. Includes a supercharger, etc.

In March 2010 I found a 2SS,A6,Transformer pkg,RS, polished rims, no sunroof, and 1096. miles. The MSRP was almost $39,000. I run a carfax-all okay, flew to dealership and did a walk around and test drive. I gave the dealer $33,000. plus TTL. and drove it home. The inside still smells new today, 2100. miles and no problems. I am very happy with my Camaro. n116ebo

This made me double think. Does the 2010 SS have the same identical suspension & braking systems as the 2011?
Also, I am curious. What suspension package did you guys install to improve the factory package?

Well I went to check out this used vehicle. Beautiful. Unfortunately the used car manager wouldn't budge off the $32.9k price tag. My buddy is supposed to talk to someone else to see if that is the final word, but if so, then I'll be going a different route.
On a positive note, I obviously got to drive this one. And also a 6-speed. My first drive of the auto, I just got in and went. The next day I visited a different dealer and during that test drive the salesman showed me how to put the auto in competitive mode. Basically old school muscle car with no traction control. Made a pretty good difference. I was smiling no doubt. Then I drove the 6-speed in competitive mode and I was like Holy crap, the car came alive to a new level. It even had more of a rumble and sounded better. For me, I am now sold on the 6-speed.

Make sure any 2010 Camaro you buy used has not been tuned. Factory power train warranty will be gone. That would be important to me anyway.

I agree about the warranty. Is there anyway to determine if the car has been tuned?

Sorry for the cross-blending.
The SS that my buddy emailed me about was at a different dealership. Black, SS2, auto & sunroof (no RS package) -- asking $32,990 and staying firm. :( I test drove it Friday night. Then Saturday I went to Jim Glover where the $64k beauty queen sits. I drove several SS's on the lot that day, including both an auto & 6-speed. I did see the $64k SS. I even sat in it, but I never drove it. It is super-charged, has painted ground effects, 20" Fosse wheels, etc as SoonerRob pointed out above. I'm not sure the true HP rating. He said 575hp, the guys on the showroom were piping off 600-700hp. Probably the lower number is true. Either way, it was nice...but I wasn't in the market for an orange SS. Don't you know, black is fastest and best looking? LOL

Now is the best time of the yesr to buy one from most dealers. They want to get rid of inventory. I bet you could find a new 2010 for 32K. Check around. The closer to the end of the year the better deal.
Good luck. Or you can wait two months or more and order a new 2011. I would also check with Becky or CamaroScotty. They have some good deals and are great to work with. Bill
