This is the kit I put on my car:
http://nightowlleds.com/

It took me about 5 hours to do the install as both head lights have to come out and the LED inside the headlight must be changed. The install is not difficult, but it will take some time.

I got the one from Gen5dyi

http://www.gen5diy.com/Lighting/rgb-...lo-upgrade-kit

Installing the kit is the same on both, it all depends on the additional upgrades you might add later on what you buy.

You need RS for the standard NightOwlLEDs halo kit. If you have that, I'm a strong +1!

I second the night owl kit took about 2.5-3 hours (I installed 2 JDP kits before) so it was pretty easy. The longest part IMHO is removing everything (rims, liners, bumper, headlights).

I do agree totally on the Night Owl kit but for now I am on a budget so will stick to the $60 Wi-Fi system until I save up for the Night Owl module.

i too have a 2011 SS and would like information on color changing.. Now is it true that you can just change the led in the RS lights without changing the entire halo out? And if so wouldnt a multiple color choice LED work for this such as night owl system?

Yes all you do is open the two access panels on the back of the headlight remove the factory LED and replace that with the supplied LED from the Night Owl kit. close up the two panels mount the headlight again, run the cable from the control box to headlight A, connect headlight B to the control box, mount the switch near the fuse box under the hood, mount the ground wire, attach the two connectors to the two spots in the fuse box. Once that is down download the Night Owl app sync it to your wifi Night Owl control box and program your lights.

In all if you have no experience it should take approx. 5 hours with experience 2-2.5 hours. As I mentioned before the longest part is removing everything to get the headlights out.

I did the Gen5diy kit and technically no you can remove the LED without taking the headlight apart. My friend did it that way. After 3 hours of trying to remove the 4 screws that hold in the LED I gave up and baked them. It was much easier that way. I looked at the Night Owl kit but at almost triple the price of the Gen5 kit I decided the cost was too high for my budget. I am very happy with the kit I have it looks and works great.
