Please dont tempt me.

To be fair, I didnt actually do any tuning on the dyno. We only did 2 pulls. The first pull, the tires spun and then hooked. 325/50/15 MT ET R. It made 1028. Then we did this pull, just seconds after.

Had I brought the car to a tuner, and had them correct the AFR and adjust timing, I wouldn't be surprised if it picked up another 30-40whp. Add some meth and maybe it'd pick up more... but it sure is enough for now.

[QUOTE=eLeSthree;10934930]Please dont tempt me.

It's only money brutha! Since you do all the work yourself the jump to the next big hp level is nothing compared to what you just spent for an engine that can both make and take the power. Just sayin!

Well ESS isnt done yet. Theyre sending me their bellmouth or “trumpet” intake. They've seen 50-80whp gains on vettes by ditching the curved intake and filter. And then 4-6 weeks from now, ill be testing the G4-100mm. 1200whp may be do-able after all.

Looks like they have taken you into their sponsorship program. You getting free parts from them for the advertisement? If so, gr8!!

I paid for the kit in 2018 and I'm under no obligation to advertise. But yea, I've been working with the engineer to test their ESS brand blowers. They like that I do my own installs, supply them with HPtuner logs, dyno charts, and feedback. I pay for all the tuning and dyno time. And was one of few people willing to push the SBE. I could sell the G3X sitting in the garage, but I'd rather send it back to them, have it turned into a G4-100 and spin that sucker to the moon! hahaa I really enjoy making horsepower and now we have a stout platform for it.

Too bad the Dart 427 wasn't free. ha

You and me both. My goal for next winter is to NOT spend all my money on the car...again. I could get a new (to me) semi or have a big down payment for a house but I’m out here trying to build an 8 second street car like a dumb***. Lol

Oh!? Do tell. Post some pictures. I’m not a huge fan of the intake.

Here's the CAD picture. Mine is powder coated satin.

It's similar to vortech bellmouth. On the camaro application it faces the rear of the car, so it may not be force fed incoming air like it does on the forward facing Corvette application. I'm waiting on the 207mm crank pulley to get a couple more psi out of this thing. Then I'll get it retuned. G4-100 is still weeks out.

That seems like an unlikely gain ? But would certainly be a welcome one if it did. It will be an interesting test for sure

Is it going straight on to the blower, or just a bellmouth for the filter ?

When I had my YSi in a similar location to your setups, I always ran a short say 30deg upswept silicone onto a bellmouth then the biggest 6" base K&N I could fit.
Only downside to the setup though was the fact the filter was always above the hot exhaust.

Apparently they say at this power level the intake tubing itself could be a restriction.
It'll go straight onto the blower, so it will be sucking in air right of the header. On the last dyno session the intake temps never went above 118 degrees F, and its usually cooler on the street. I dont start pulling timing until 140 on this tune. If the intake temps get to hot and negate the gains from not having the elbow, then the tubing/filter goes back on.

I'll have it retuned with the larger lower pulley with the intake and filter in place, then swap the bell mouth in to see the gains.

On this old Aussie/YSi Monaro/GTO from a few years ago, they ran a 90deg and bellmouth for dyno runs.

I can't imagine the 90deg doing it any favours though. Although I'd find it hard to believe a short straight or slight 4" bend would be a restriction.

More ESS goodies

I shipped off my old blower and had Brevin at ESS hook it up with a nice gloss black powder coating, and more importantly, the new style G4-95mm impeller wheel. They've done a bit more testing and found they can make more power on this wheel in the 95 trim. Sounds good to me. He also sent a few more pounds of boost, by way of a larger lower pulley. The LS3 kit comes with a 200mm lower, but I guess the L99 kits come with a 207mm. Should be good for a couple more psi maybe...

Of course these upgrades will need to wait until I upgrade the diff/axles/driveshaft. Hope to start that project tonight. 3:73s should make this interesting, so I have a pair of MT ET Drag stiff walled slicks 28x10.5x15 to run on the street. lol.

So the owner of the Vette who had the G4-100 recently sold his car, and his power numbers came out. On a forged 376 with 10.75:1 compression, e85 and meth he made 1280whp on 23 pounds of boost. So that blower is right there in F1X territory.
