My 1LE is getting a better brake upgrade
Due to an unforeseen circumstance I needed new front calipers. I over torqued my bleeders in my 6 piston V calipers last fall at the track (knowingly) and then the car wasn't tracked again until this past Saturday. The torque and heat from the race pads seized the bleeders into place. Friday night I sheared off both LH and RH front caliper bleeders......so I bleed the inside of both and ran at the track as planned.
I had planned on upgrading the Vs with the 2015+ Corvette Z06 non-CCB vented pistons..... But these now seem appropriate. I will fix the Vs later. Matt.

Mmmmm vented pistons. These are good for about a 86f reduction in temp.

I believe they are direct bolt on; essentially a CTS-V caliper with better pistons. I'm curious if they offer rebuild kits with pistons and seals.

All Corvette calipers go for $300-400, so it should not cost too much. That said, I suppose it would only be worth an upgrade if you already destroyed your own CTS-V calipers, and bored of buying the same cheap calipers all the time :P
Why not just a good set of BBKs? Yes, they are more expensive, but they also come with improvements. For instance, taking a quick look at StopTech's aero rotor v.s. the ZL1's 2-piece quickly reveals why one would promote a few times more air flow than the other.

Yes they are a direct bolt on with the Zl1 rotor.
They are not on Amazon yet, but they sell for $400//$425. Yes the pistons helps with the heat transfer. Yes the piston kit is available to upgrade V and Zl1 brakes. It is $119 per caliper (6 pistons) or $164ish with new seals included. Why not a better BBK.....Time!!! Ran the car Saturday and I need (want) to be back 100% because I will be back at the track this coming Sat/Sun. Decided on these instead of another V set and upgraded pistons for roughly the same cost. Matt

Hmmm. I like that they are already red as well. I'll definitely have to keep this in mind for the future should I ever have to replace my CTS-V calipers I have on the car now.
BTW...what race pads are you using. I had thought up to this point you had always been running the stock Ferrodo 1000 pads? Were you having fade issues with the stock pads that you switched? Thanks for the info Matt!!
