Keeping OnStar after 1 year

How many of you are keeping OnStar after your free year? trial. I really do like having, but Im not sure if I really want to pay $50 a month for it.:

I just renewed mine but I only got the Safe & Sound Plan ($18.95 month). I will use my Garmin for GPS.

I'll probably re-subscribe. It isn't $50.00 a month though.

Can't we just pay the full year for like $150 or so?

Got my first "You're OnStar subscription is about to run out " letter in the mail this week.

Definitely won't be subscribing, it's a nice feature to have for free but I'm not gonna pay for it...

I about to reach 1 year with my car. Does anyone know how much a year it costs?

I like having it, but I'm not paying anywhere close to $50.00 a month to keep it.

28.90/month or 299/year for the directions and connections plan. You save up to 37% with multi year plans.

Login and see. it's ~17-25% cheaper for GM Family First Members.

$50 p/ month? Who told you that?

The Safe & Sound Package is $199 annually, ($16.58 p/mo), and the Directions & Connections (S & S plus Turn by Turn Navigation) is $299 annually, ($24.92 p/mo).

Stolen vehicle assistance alone is worth it, then you add lockout assistance, automatic crash response, and emergency svcs.... think of Onstar as an insurance policy, hopefully you'll never need to use it, but better to have it and not need it, than to need it, and not have it.

In a nutshell I can't think of any product on the market today that gives you all of that, for little more than .50 cents p/day, ($.83 w/ nav). You probably blow a dollar a day on useless stuff right now. Buy one less Coke out the machine per day, spend it on something that gives something substantial....

Where did you get those numbers for the D&C package? the site says 299

I kept the safe and sound package for $199. When I told them I was going to drop the nav they said they would discount it $50 for a total of $250.

I opted not to renew the Nav. I slso bought 100 extra phone minutes last year ($18.99) and they rolled over the remaining minutes to my new plan.

I had like 110 minutes left (100 + the first free 30)
