Great info in this thread. Thanks so much.
Good choice OP. With the exception of the useless “mail slot” upfront, it’s hard to find fault with the 13.

Even though not everyone will ever agree there are more people that think 13 is the sweet spot than any other year. It has the body of the 10-13 while getting the updates of the 14-15's. Really you can't go wrong but given the choice 13 is the year that gets my dollar, twice. (I've had two)

Of course it all comes down to personal preference, but for me, I was looking to buy new at what turned out to be the optiom time, the end of 2013. I was able to compare the original to the refreshed Gen5 designs side by side. Personally, I preferred the looks of the original, so I bought what I think was right in the sweet spot ... after some 'tweaks' to the 2010-2012 models and before the 2015-2016 refresh. For those in the market for a Gen5 today, I would recommend either a 2013 or 2016 depending on which design they preferred

Is there any reason to prefer certain years over others or is a 2010 just as solid as a 2015?

I'm not worried about the cosmetic differences like the gauges or taillights. I'm thinking more about mechanical reliability. I will be going full exhaust, cam and 50-100 shot of nitrous if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance.
Find a 2013 1LE (sweet spot)... you'll thank me later.

And rear camera is nice to have, in the mirror on '12, or in the mylink screen on the '13+. With the big ass on these cars the first time backing up you will be happy you got it.

Thanks for the replies.
I wouldn't pass on any year 5th Gen Camaro as long as you can find a
stock one. Problems seem to occur when they have been messed with.
The only thing to go on my 8+ year old stock early '10 SS is the driver
side heated seat- Thats it ! And as far as the standard vs the auto I've
seen lots of problems here on camaro5 re clutches, etc. I'm sure after
9 years here there may have been an Automatic trans failure, but I don't
remember one..... Good luck with your search.

I have a 2010 - would like a backup camera but other than that I love it. I did not like the HUD and someone above said the gauges were hard to read or something but I have no issues.

14-15 have the Recaros seats, color dash and HUD. The M6 is fun to drive but the A6 is a tad quicker down the 1/4mi. For the money nothing can touch the 1le for all around performance. Good luck in whatever you decide....

14/15 2SS are in a sweet spot right now. I got my 15 vert a year ago for $25K. A lot of fun car for the money!
