anybody have a lowered 1le?

i have a 15 1le. all the bmr stuff in the rear end and nitto 01's all the way around, other than that stock suspension. so my questions are. will lowering 1 inch all the way around improve handling (bmr kit) or is there another brand that everybody loves more. thanks

If you only want to go an inch, you basically have two choices; BMR and Hotchkis are the two companies that most people use. Improve handling, that's somewhat opinion, most people say yes but it has never been verified on a 1le with track times.

I have the H&R 1.4/1.3 springs. I love them. Handles much better, tighter on the street... no track times though. I read some threads of people complaining about bmr not lowering the car enough... barely noticeable... that's why went with the H&R springs.

I went with the pfadt 1.25 inch lower springs. They are now sold under the brand apex and the car rides better than stock

Handling will always improve on any car when lowering, but depending on use could make for an uncomfortable ride based on use.. The real question you should be asking should be fully based on what you do with the car. We don't know what's your use of the car is so it's hard to tell you your options and how they relate or compare.

Are you just out cruising around on the street and occasionally getting on it or are you trying to go full pro street?? Are you only track dedicated and occasionally street driving? Are you street to strip?

As you see so much questions based on what you are using the car for.

What are you using the car for and or future use ...?

Coilovers if you can swing the cost. These will set you in best position to change height or dampening base on what your doing that day.

Drop springs if your looking for budget friendly but your stuck at one height and have no dampening options. Both will work better than keeping stock height though. .

I will be installing Pedders extreme XA remote canister coil overs in the next few weeks for running the Mile. I want to be able to lower it as much as possible to have lees air under the car and then raise it up for the street.

Lowered mine around 1 1/4" with BC Racing ER Series CO's. With CO's, you can chose a range of adjustment to suit your needs from 0 to around 1 1/2+".....And as to the comment about lowering the car for aero purposes, I don't think it's just as simple as "lower is better". Airflow doesn't seem to be an easy issue.....

You are correct sir. Airflow on these cars is not all about "low",but the OP's question was about lowering. I tape the grill, remove side mirrors and rear spoiler and few little things under the car as well.
