I love the idea but the yellow fogs with the HIDs just isn't doing it. I will wait till I get the LEDs put into the fogs. As soon as someone local and reliable like Vizualize can situate the housing issues for the RS fogs.

He has already switched out the yellow fogs with a matching bulb color. Currently (as far as I know) one way to do that would be to replace the RS bulb housings with one from a Non-RS model. These will accept 5202 bulbs...so you could use the 5202 socket and insert an LED bulb. (I'm not sure if they make an HID bulb to fit the 5202 socket or not)

Or, if your OK with LED, just wait for AACstyle to finish their version of an LED bulb that will fit the RS housing! (check out this page for more info on that!)

Yeah, I put LED bulbs in my RS housings, here is the link:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...t=43252&page=2

I dont want xenon HID fog lights, the RS headlights are plenty bright enough as it is.
These LEDs provide the look of them, without blinding people.

in order to do this job, is it really necessary to remove the front bumper? or is there any other way?

Drl

not necessary but it is easier. Take the passenger wheel off and then take the inner fender plastic out. Then look for the connector. It is hard to do but can be done. Make sure you cover the lower bumper facia before soldering.

Just to make sure I'm understanding this correctly after doing this mod the "fog" lights are always on right?

Any particular reason for the zeners instead of regular?

They are always on, as DRL durring the day, and then as fog lights during the night, unless you turn your lights off manually at night.

I'm not sure the difference of diodes.
I got the Zener's and they work great

Okay, thanks. Zeners are usually used for voltage regulation, so I had to ask. If 24W is the highest-power bulb being used, a 3A diode should be used.

Hey Brainhart just wanted to say thankyou for the great write up on the DRL's and the 921 socket. I followed all of your instructions to the T and everything worked out perfectly. It's a real bitch getting to that top screw of the bumper.lol. Wired the diode, bulb socket fits real good and tight, also gave me a chance to open up behind the grill area for more cool air to the CAI. Everything went real smooth, the DRL/Fogs look great. I definitley want to upgrade my halos but maybe later after i forget how hard it is to take off the bumper. Now there are 2 Camaro RS with DRL Led's always on. Those 921 LED's from V-leds are perfect and plenty bright enough. Thanks alot bro. Great write up!
