10.4 @ 130 with 625 rwhp, A6
Yeah yeah. I know the car is slower but this was the first time out for me in 6 months due to chemo and radiation treatments. And this was also the first day with Ted's forged L99 with roughly 750 miles on it. So needless to say I was going for any sort of new pb. The car was set up as safe and as low as we could get the rwhp. I didn't want to bring it back in pieces just yet. The 3.4 pulley was used so we still have plenty of room to go down and get serious. I still have the 3.2 and the 3.0 and even a 2.9 to try. I also took off the slicks to try a set of MT ET streets and I have to say they were just as good as the slicks and the car was extremely stable.I didn't have time to play around with my launches but this pass was at about 2k rpm. Much more than that and the brakes can't hold the car back. I have a video from the Iphone but it's sideways and I don't want to make you all sick trying to watch it. Scheduled to head back out on the 27th. Maybe with a small increase in power.
BTW. Lebanon Valley did check my trans blanket and it passed tech. They also busted me for rubber valve stems on the stock front tires and said next time to have metal ones. Video: |

Thanks guys! The car was absoluetly flawless (all be it slow) all day long. Even after 3 passes in a row. I can't thank Ted enough. I'm sure he'll have some tweaks to make and I think the car needs a little more gear but he'll be able to see that in the logs. I hope. It was nice to have a good, conservative set-up to start with. Now we can start to make some increases in power and see where it goes.
Mike. I figured I'd try the MT's this go round. Now I've run all three onthe 5th gen and they all have really performed pretty close to the same. The MT's may be even better when I air them down. I kept forgetting to. I as like a beginner today. The first burnout I did was so long that I had smoke coming inside the car through the vents! |
