Question 17 SS without NPP

Is the stock exhaust a limitation if the car doesn't have NPP?

Thanks!

My '16 SS Convertible didn't have NPP either. Too quiet...I installed a Borla ATAK axleback exhaust and love the sound upon acceleration, without the drone at cruising speeds

NPP is the factory code for the Dual Mode Exhaust.

No, just quieter all the time.

Thanks! I guess I'll not spend any on that for now. I plan to do the Hellion TT kit in a few months so I may as well save the $ for that instead.

I didn't get the NPP and I'm not regretting it one bit. Unless you have to have a loud exhaust they're useless. I only care about stuff that actually improves performance.

If they added 5hp like the Corvette NPP I'd have gotten it. But no increase in hp is useless to me.

I'll be the devil's advocate..the sound that my SS makes with the NPP exhaust is fantastic. Love it so much that I pulled the fuse to make sure the butterfly valves are open at all times. One of my favorite things about the car! No hp adder, true, but sound is one of the alluring aspects to an enthusiast car, for me.

Well, you do have a 2SS. Not a lot of performance benefit to be found in adding weight for luxury bits.

Add EVERY feature the 2SS has over the one SS and it's less than 20 pounds. maybe less than 10. Seat heating elements are lightweight aluminum. Cooling fans are the same type in your computer tower for chassis and processor cooling. Dual zone climate requires no additional components, lane watch is a few sensors and wires that might weigh 2 pounds.

Ah I almost forgot homelink. Those 3 plastic buttons and transmitter must really weigh down the 2SS lol

dont forget. when you opt for the NPP the diffuser is painted gloss black in lieu of the plastic looking grey. zero added weight for the performance discussion as well.

i did the research before opting for the 2ss, but the difference is negligible. that thing under the hood is pumping out 450hp...is a few extra pounds going to make that much of a difference?
