Strobe flashing SES light HELP

Strobe flashing SES light HELP

OK here is the background.

Ran fine 7+ years. 86 2.8

All of a sudden it died and would not give up the ghost, even using an ALDL cable, no codes were stored or flashed.

Replace ECM

Ran fine for 2 weeks, just sitting in the drive way idling fine, then next min barley running and now the SES light is just strobe flashing, really fast, it does run but very very rough. Will pop n backfires at times. Then seem to run ok till you try to move. Its none of the regular obvious stuff.

vac leaks, plugs, wires, fuel, fuel psi.......... bla bla bla

Finally confirmed the stobe flashing SES light is a read/restart error of the chips. Its like a rare secret only a few know, fun to play stump the GM tech.

So now where to find computer chips, only guy on ebay already sold me bad chips.

Them pricy performance chips sold are worse then stockers.

86 2.8 7032 ECM

Gonna bring this back up, its spring again and I still got the problem.
bought a few sets of chip and it still strobes but starts right up even after many months of sitting and feel nice till I try and give it gas then it goes hay wire. The engine is going into a 85 GMC S15 but Im a glutten for punishment. And would like one last real shot at keeping the FI computer stuff before it goes carb here real real soon.

[plan, get 2.8 engine running on FI again or carb, then pull and put into the S15, find a running 455 for the wagon, ill then have a truck to haul it. Install 455, which leaves a running 350 for the Firebird.]
