My first pass at paint correction using Adams.

Hey everybody,

I have had my Camaro for just about 4 months now, and have learned A LOT from this forum. Thanks to everybody for sharing their experiences etc...

I finally pulled the trigger and purchased some Adams products to attack the awful swirls that I have.

So far, I have failed miserably, I am by no means blaming the Adams products, I think it is a combination of my technique as well as the overall breadth of the problem. (i.e. a ton of swirls)

My first time I decided to try hand polishing etc, so I went with the swirl and haze remover, revive polish and buttery wax all with the appropriate applicators as well as the super micro fiber towel.

Of course I washed the entire car and then clayed the panels I was going to attack. (I decided to focus on specifics panels that were the worst vs. attempting the entire car on this first pass)

I went in the appropriate order with each product, I did not have really good lighting so It was hard to see as I progressed, but today in the sunlight I can really see the results. (Pretty miserable)

As you can see swirl heaven.

I think I am going to have to bite the bullet and purchase the PC 7424XP to really attack the problem.

Your thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Yea I attempted to do that by hand as well and it just cannot be done without your arms falling off. I bit the bullet and bought the Porter cable last night haha

By hand is really hard cause you just can't mimmick the action of the Porter Cable. When you get one, things will get better. If you don't, well, I agree with what asmith10 said, your arm will fall off if you keep trying.

Try a smaller area with different technique. I worked an area by hand in one direction, then a different direction with the Revive or Fine machine polish. Sort of like wet sanding (don't sand it) technique. That worked but took a LOT of work to get the result! Yes I use the PC.

Your car will be Spectacular after about 20 hours with the PC and Adams products. My black looks great now but I still wish that I had bought the 2SS Red Jewel that was 5k more, I just couldn't swing it.
