2SS is a trim, while the RS is an appearance package. You can add the RS package to a 2SS Camaro.

The RS is a option package: most significantly the headlights are HID with Halos; red "SS" badges instead of white; painted roof ditch molding; darker silver wheels (midnight silver); darker tail lights. I think that is all that comes in the package.

The 2SS is a loaded V8 that comes with nearly every other option: the sound system, leather, blue tooth, connectivity package, steering wheel controls, etc.

So one is a package the other is a trim level. I think the RS is worth getting.

If your talking just about the badging...the RS is a V6 and the SS is the V8...the above stated is correct it's the appearence package with the Halos..etc.., If the car just has RS on it and not SS then it is the LT model with the V6.

Here are the different types of 2010 camaro:

LS, 1LT*, 2LT*, 1SS*, 2SS*.

* = RS package can be added on to them, but it is optional.

Therefore, to ask what the difference is between an RS and 2SS is a question that needs more refining. You cannot buy a 2010 Camaro RS.

Thank you Shifty, I did a search on why people call them 2SS/RS when back in the day it was a SS or a RS which I prefer the SS since they hug the ground better for racing (I used to own a 1968 SS with a 327 4peed HURST) I have a 2SS V8 fully loaded and you couldn't pay me to buy a RS sorry that is just my opinion, I will never settle when it comes to cars, yes the ZL1 are bad to the bone but its not a SS and that is ok because having the 6.2L I can take my 2SS and make It a ZL1 if I want lol
