V8 swap question

Not sure what thread to pist this on and its probably been ask a million time so I'll apologize in advance.

I'm looking to to swap the v6 engine in my 2011 camaro to a v8 as to why not just trade the car I have setimatal value to the car and dont mind the project. Anyways Will the engine mounts be the same or will i need to change them?

The V6 engine Camaros had different suspension and drivetrain components, as well as different ECM, BCM and TCM computers.
V6 to V8 is not a simple swap and far from cost effective. Their have been a few users on here attempt it over the years, but I don't know of anyone that actually completed the swap.

Don't even dream about it because unless you have ENTIRE car to swap everything over it ain't gonna happen. Too many electronics involved.

There have been a few that have successfully swapped. The only one that I know to have posted in depth was Marlon1LS. https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=448785

Probably not to bad a swap if you are going to make a racecar out of it (still probably not economical) but to make it fully integrated with the stock instruments and BCM is not as easy.

Your going to pour a ton of money into it unless you can do the work yourself.

If you farm it out how do you know they won't botch the job?

Either way it your not driving the car for months and the gremlins may last a lot longer.

Never get emotionally attached to car it has no love for you or your wallet.

Drive it the way it is or trade it in on an SS that you can drive now

BTW it's not as easy as swapping an LS into an old muscle car there are plenty of electronics and anti theft systems you need to over come.

If you have the 10K+ for the parts (you will need much more than LS3 crate engine and skills) then you also have a down payment on the trade-in and can save yourself 6+ months of headaches.
