The car will be done when it's done. I'd like to see more technical threads discussing the ZL1, potential expansion projects, capabilities of the platform, etc.

The "MY CAR WENT 901237895 TODAY!" threads are just a bit stale and are everywhere now. I care as much about the "code" of person's car as I do about your fantasy football team, the number of twitter followers you have, and what you had for breakfast.
I agree that there are seemingly countless, repetitive, and mundane topics that litter this section. It it what it is, and the best recommendation is to just ignore those topics and posts that you think don't contribute to the quality of the forum.

But in regards to the bolded part, how about creating a thread on said topics? This forum could use contributions like that, so instead of complaining about the problem, how about being part of the solution?

Been there, tried that. After my attempt to get an "advanced tech" forum tanked, I tried to just make deeper posts:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84378

Lost motivations after this one went nowhere. Nobody seems to participate.

There is nothing wrong with the OP's post...
We have no real "facts" on ZL1 other than what has been posted...
No one owns a real ZL1.... or knows any "truths" about it to really comment..
We have nothing but time ahead of us to make good threads, rediculous threads, funny threads...
positive threads, and technical threads...and "insert name" of your fave ZL1 thread here..
With excitement that is building with each passing day as we wait for this fabulous car...
One should expect many many threads of this type.
If you like the thread... Post...
If you don't like the thread.. Post...But try to be respectful to others as not everyone will share your view. Should we close the ZL1 thread section down just because some never thinks of starting new threads?
There are some... That no matter what is going on.. Will NEVER start a new thread...
There are some... every forum has them...that ANY thread that is started...there will be a handful of "class clowns" that have nothing better to do but sit back and throw a comment out just for attention. C5 is no exception to this.
If a thread bothers you so much that you don't like the thread.. why even post anything at all? Move on to something you do like.
OR.... Maybe the thread you don't like just may reach a point that you have something positive to say in it to contribute to the subject or to help others.

Mike, I don't want answers now. Not any. Just know that your preparation, planning, and execution on the job are acknowledged and we are collectively grateful for all you and the rest of the team do. It's been a great year for Camaro and 2012 (along with the ZL1 intro) will be very very special and one that the history books on the automotive industry will look back on as the most significant in half a century. In my lifetime, and in the DNA that makes man appreciate automotive achievement, the ZL1 is inspiring at the chromosome level. Thanks to all of you! Have a Happy (and safe) New Year!
