Accell 9070c plug leads

Already BBQ'd a stock wire from my shorty headers after about 8000km's. Didn't feel like a repeat performance, so I picked up a set of these.
http://shop.accel-ignition.com/gm-ge...7-engines.html
(and according to the box - we have a 6.3L engine. Cough)

Anyhow - seems that the boys & girls at Accell aren't really clear on the concept of 'ceramic' and 'breakable'!
When they package them, all the leads are just wrapped together. All the leads ends just flap against each other.

Oh, but they DO wrap the whole mess in bubble wrap.

Contacted Accell, and after only 5 weeks (?!) I got a new single lead in the mail. In an envelope.
And guess what! It was wrapped in bubble wrap. Un-taped. And it had of course slipped out. But... it actually didn't break. WHEW!

So here's what I got when I opened the (brand new) box:

Just hearing Accell brings back some BAD memories.

You can get mesh heat tubes that protect the OEM wires from the hot headers. Hope these work out for ya though.

I actually HAD the DEI boots on the stock wires. Still fried one.

It's cold wet and generally bleah here right now, but as soon as I get these installed I'll update.

I just checked and one of my DEI boots is burnt through. I turned it around to slow down it's death.

Did you get a chance to measure them yet?

Finally!
Not raining. Light out. Above zero. Not @ work.

I guess they adjusted the formula or something, as they are now slightly LONGER than a stock lead!
So even if you had aftermarket coil brackets (or something) that moved the coil packs up a bit, you'd still be OK.

How long will they last? No clue. They've been on roughly 4 minutes now, and I haven't even turned the key.

I ordered a set and one of the ceramic boots was broken as well. They were also shorter than my stock wires. I emailed Accel and was told part number 9065C was the same wire, only 13.25" long (made for trucks).

So, I am gonna order a set of those and hope they show up unbroken.

Possibly you got old stock? Mine was old?!
No idea. All I know is I held it up against one of my stock wires - and it was longer!

Are your ceramic boots straight, or angled half way up as mine are?

If they are/were straight, I can see them needing to be REALLY long.

Well! I finally remembered.... grabbed a 'new' lead (actually, my broken one) and compared it to a stock lead side by side this time.

Low and behold... the stock ones are a hair longer! Not much.
But with the ceramic boot being angled, the stock ones are effectively shorter since they have to arc around.
