Diesel is actually low in octane numbers, something in the 10 to 20s range, since diesel engines pretty much run on preignitions(crude way of explaining it), so you want to fill up with high octane gas if you somehow make the mistake.

Exactly! Diesel is rated in cetane (ability TO burn). Gasoline is measured in octane (RESISTANCE to burn.)

I've known about this difference for a while, even our cars have the hole on the fuel door peg, but no actuator/relay or harness (and most likely missing some BCM programming).

Yep...when they find the can't siphon the gas they get mad and pour water in your tank. Its why we need locking caps. Not like todays society is producing angels.

I didn't read all of the post but I have locking gas cap.I couldn't find one for camaro so I looked for chevy truck cap. Found it on amazon.About $ 20 best I remember, works perfect.

The gen6 started in 16 to present so it would be chevy truck of that time.I will look at cap tomorrow. If a number is on it I will post tomorrow. I never figured out how to transfer pics to post.I am very happy with it, keeps filler valve clean.
