I see cooling is cooling... I need to drive the car some as I don't drive it much these days. It seemed a bit better (cooler) last night running which was encouraging but I think I will give it a week to see how it is overall before I inquire further with the dealer.

The transmission control module monitors temp. The TCM wont turn on trans over temp light till 260'f or higher. That is the temperature which ATF could break down. So 180'f- 225'f wouldn't be bad. When servicing these transmissions and performing trans adapt relearn, trans needs to be at 170'f.Seems like you are chasing a no problem.

Hi thx for the reply. Yeah I think I might be chasing a non-issue as you say. It was bugging me more so because mine seems to be different than most here. You seem to know a lot about these trans do you work on them?

I have ADM cooler. I run 180 most of the time and 220-210 after making a pass or two at the track.

I would say it is about halfway between the center mark (180) and the first white line (250) so thats how I guess it is 215 or so.

It has never gone higher than that yet mind you. I think the trans cooler on these cars is more of a heater in fact. My coolant will hit 220 at times so its no wonder the trans is up near that too.

I asked my tuner about this a while back and he said its not a problem. I know the Dexron VI can handle higher temps than the old stuff did.

Mine runs the same temps with hard pills my trans get up to pass the center (180) just below the (250) line I have a tune withe long tube headers

Mine jumped up in temp by 20* or so after my dyno tune. But after the tune I picked up around 30 hp. So I assumed it was because of that but not entirely sure. So I installed the tru cool 40k and now my temp is at 170*-180* on a 100* day. Another reason I installed the cooler is when I took it to the dealer for a fluid check the fluid looked really brown. I then had them do a tranny service after I installed the tranny cooler. And they said there was no metal or clutch material in the pan or fluid. Oh and one more thing is that I have it going through the radiator first.
