West Palm Beach, need some valve work.....

Hello all,

I am having a misfire in cylinder 7 and a clicking noise as of yesterday. Dealership said all the tests they did checked out other than the compression test. They stated it was good compression but bad running compression. Believe a valve or valve guide is the problem. They are trying to charge me $1800 to get in and replace all gaskets and assuming valves but they weren't even on the quote so not even sure about that. Any mechanics local that can help a semi mechanically inclined guy out and get this baby purring again?

Are you mechanically capable of replacing the heads yourself?

Never done it before, I am sure I could if I put the time into it. but generally like to have experienced people do it or be around to learn the initial time.

Now we are a distance from you but we do some great work on heads that you can send us and we can send back. You can send us your head with valves bare and clean and we will do a valve job with upgraded springs and necessary hardware like locks and retainers for 999.99$ plus shipping back to you. Also that would be a perfect time to install a bigger cam for that old school sound. Plus doing both usually picks up 80-100hp to the ground. My name is Jake message me or call me if interested 313-561-5500

I decided to remove them myself and get my learn on. Can this all be done with the front end left completely untouched or do I need to take anything apart in the front end of the car to access everything easy?
