FR3 Ferrada rims center cap issue

Just wondering I just bought FR2 Ferrada rims for my 2014 Camaro SS which are still in the box. Does anyone had any problems with the rear center caps for the rims not fitting on the hub and is a 5mm spacer needed.

I was told this: You may need a 5 mm spacer to allow the center cap to sit flush on the wheel due to the axle bolt it depends on the car, some need it some dont.

Unsure if it for the newer models only. Just getting ready to get them mounted shortly and would like to know ahead of time if i need the spacer just to clear the hub. Thanks
I bought the 10.5 offset 38 and front 9 offset 20.

Hey guys, not a problem. I have the Ferrada FR3's on my 2011 SS and had this issue. The locking tabs on the inside of the cap that secure it in place need to be trimmed back to JUST before where they bend inward leaving just a small amount of the curved tab intact and they will work just fine. When I had this issue I notified Paul at PK Auto and he was supposed to have this fix mentioned about the caps, but I guess he didn't. But anyway, that is the fix and mine are snug and on just fine.Good luck..These are AWESOME wheels.

Tabs

Do you remember how long ago you told PK Auto. I just bought my wheels and PK Auto told me it may be a problem on certain vehicles but not sure. I will be installing them 2 days from now. I tried test fitting them on my vehicle on the rear but did not want to take a chance and pop them on and have trouble taking them off but it looks like enough clearance. Was this for the rears only?

But I will keep you updated after install.

Yea. I told them about 6 months ago about it when I bought mine. And yea he told me the same thing. They will fit on the rim ok, but when you install the rim, it will pop them off, if you install the rim first, then the cap will not go on, the ends of the tabs hit the axle hub and won't go far enough in to "snap" in place. I think we trimmed off about 1/4 of an inch to make them work, just before the kink in the tab, just need enough to lock them in and not touch the axle hub..

Hub rings

Did you have a hard time installing the hub rings they sent along with the rims. I tried to test fit it onto the rim but it does not fit.
Do you have to place them on the car hub then tighten the wheel to make it fit?

Hey there, lol yea I did, but then realized I had to take the "stock" hub rings off, then the new ones will fit. Just press them on the hub of the axle, harrow side facing out towards you. Good luck.

Finally got them on

The center cap issue they fixed there is no need of fix.

I had a little hiccup with the rear installation due to not receiving the right size hub rings. They sent me 4 hub ring size 74.1 to 67.1. I went with 20x9 front which hub rings size is 74.1 to 67.1. Rears 20x10.5 hub ring size is 72.56 to 67.1.

Called PK auto and they remedy the situation and sent it in the mail and received it today.

Everything fits up nicely. Glad I went with that size it gave me the aggressive stance I wanted. I went in the front with 274/45/20 and rear 305/35/20.
Now debating on to lower the Camaro. Fender gap is bothering me a little....lol. Just not sure due to my driveway is at a slant and afraid of scraping.

Very nice, glad you got the issues resolved. My rears are 20x11.5, an inch wider than yours, so the offset was such that we HAD to trim the center caps tabs. Or originally PK told me that in some instances they had to grind the ends of the axle hubs, and I was not about to do that, so we fixed it.. Good luck and nice rims. Post pics when you can please.
