Installed my Chevy puddle lights
Just installed these today. Was a bit of a challenge finding a way to wire them up to the dome light so they would turn on when the door is opened.

I think I read somewhere that if you tap into the dome light that the light you attach will not be as bright as they could be using a different power supply. Any truth to that from what you can tell?

Not from what I can tell. I used a multimeter to test the power supply and it was putting out 12v.

I ran wires up to the dome light and used wire taps to tap into them. Tomorrow I am going to rerun the wires and clean it up a little. But for now you cannot tell there are wires run all the way up there.

There is a wire in the door for this. It's dif wire on each side but the wire to tap into was easy to find. Look in a search

Nice, but they're supposed to be flush against the surface. That nut unscrews so you can tighten it against the inside of the door panel. Then you tighten that screw so it all stays in place. Just a heads up incase if moves and you have to adjust it.

There is also a dome light wire above the gas pedal. It is the grey wire in the grey harness.
